Office of Information Technology

The College of Liberal Arts Office of Information Technology, or CLA IT, is one of Purdue's "distributed IT" groups. We are proud to collaborate with ITaP and other campus IT organizations. CLA IT staff provide support to faculty and staff in departments and units throughout the college.

What's the best way to ask for help?

Liberal Arts faculty and staff may request CLA IT support services by sending e-mail to ithelp@purdue.edu or calling our Service Desk at 66333.

Our staff page will help you match names with faces for all CLA IT team members.

How do I change my Liberal Arts network password?

On Microsoft Windows-based computers, log in to your computer as normal. Once logged in, simultaneously press the Ctrl, Alt, and Delete keys. A dialog box with six buttons will appear. Click the "Change Password" button.

On the next screen, you'll type your old password and then your new password twice. Then click the "OK" button. Finally, click the "Cancel" button to return to Windows.

You can also click here to change your password or to set up your challenge questions to enable the password self-reset service on the SecurePurdue site.

How do I create the best possible password?

Please see our good password guidelines.

Making information privacy and computer security part of your daily routine

IT staff have been working diligently for months to improve computer security, but it is essential that you take action to safeguard the computer data that you use. Guidelines have been established for storage of files containing Social Security numbers, credit card numbers or any other sensitive or private data. If you use such data, please take a moment to review the guidelines. Please also see our Desktop Security page.

If you need assistance or clarification, please contact our Service Desk.
