Events
Under the leadership of Interim Director, Dr. Patrocinio Schweickart, the CAAS is proud to co-sponsor educational events that promote Asian American arts and culture. In Fall 2008, the CAAS co-sponsored a talk by author Lan Samantha Chang, and also "Fred Ho and the Afro-Asian Jazz Ensemble". In Spring 2009, the CAAS co-sponsored the Asian American superhero anthology book tour "Secret Identities". The CAAS is co-sponsoring a traveling photographic exhibit entitled "commUNITY" in Summer 2009.

CAAS graduate students Lisa Hanasono and Kate Agathon are part of a conference planning committee comprised of graduate students from Purdue University and Indiana University. Supported in part by the Committee on Institutional Cooperation, the Asian American Studies Conference will be held September 25-26, 2009, at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana.
