Clinical education
is major component of the udergraduate athletic training program
at Purdue University. During the clinical experience, students are
required to practice and apply the skills, techniques, and knowlegde
they learn in the classroom. All of the 13 certified athletic trainers
on staff serve as Approved Clinical Instructors (ACIs) or Clinical Instructors (CIs) for the athletic
training education program.
Clinical education sites include
on- and off-campus venues. Athletic training students will observe
and learn in the following on-campus facilities: Mackey Athletic
Training Room, Newell Athletic Training Room, RSC Athletic Training
Room, and the Student Health Center (PUSH) Physical Therapy Clinic.
Off-campus clinical settings may include: Arnett Physical Therapy
Clinic, local high schools, St. Joseph's College, and Wabash College. |
