Health Promotion and Education Majors

Health promotion and education is the science and art of helping people change their lifestyle to move toward a state of optimal health. It is the discipline concerned with educating people about health risk factors (such as obesity, smoking, high fat diets, and lack of exercise); helping people identify their own personal health risk factors; assisting people in the elimination or reduction of these risks through healthier lifestyles and habits; and assisting them in maintaining these new, healthier lifestyles.
