Psychology of Sport and Exercise, and Motor Behavior PhD
The doctoral program in Psychology of Sport and Exercise, and Motor
Behavior is designed to prepare students for university research
and teaching positions in sport and exercise psychology, biomechanics,
motor control, and motor development. Knowledge from the biological,
physical, and social sciences is used to impart a comprehensive,
theoretically-based understanding of human movement experiences.
Areas of current emphasis include such topics as social and motivational
processes in sport and exercise, coordination of bimanual performance,
motor timing processes, infant perceptual-motor development of reaching
and locomotion, and eating disorders among athletes.
