Pedagogy of Physical Activity and Health PhD
The doctoral program in Pedagogy of Physical Activity and Health
provides intensive study in the areas of teaching practice, curriculum
development, and professional preparation. Faculty in this area
provide a range of research expertise across behavioral, sociological,
management, and philosophical perspectives. Both quantitative and
qualitative research methodologies are emphasized. The primary focus
of this program is on physical activity and health issues in traditional
and non-traditional pedagogical settings. Students matriculating
through this program move on to a range of careers from teacher
and coach preparation in academe, to other forms of pedagogical
and administrative work in either corporate or public service settings.
