Interdepartmental Nutrition Program PhD
Purdue University offers an Interdepartmental Nutrition Program
for doctoral students with participation by Indiana University School
of Medicine and Indiana University-Purdue University at Fort Wayne.
This program brings together many scientific disciplines to answer
complex questions pertaining to nutrients and cellular function
or to diet and health and performance for animals and humans. The
program provides a diverse training ground for doctoral students
and is sufficiently flexible to accommodate a variety of paths under
the umbrella heading of nutrition including an emphasis on biochemical
and molecular; human and clinical; animal health, growth, and development;
and public health and education. Faculty from 10 departments, including
Health and Kinesiology, at Purdue University in West Lafayette,
Indiana and from Indiana University School of Medicine at Indianapolis,
Indiana, and Indiana University-Purdue University at Fort Wayne
participate in this program to provide a wide range of expertise
and cross-training, facilities and an exciting interdepartmental
seminar series.
