The Department of Health and Kinesiology offers courses in the

Health and Safety
Thirty three courses, including topics that promote a healthy lifestyle,
including Basic Health Studies (HK 215), Personal
and Community Health (HK 219), and Principles of Community
Health Promotion (HK 365). Other courses discuss topics
that affect individual and community health, such as Substance
Abuse and Health (HK 231), Stress and Human Health
(HK 233), and Human Diseases and Disorders (HK
440).
Health, Physical Education, and Recreation
Courses for students interested in the health and fitness industry.
There are currently 37 couses, including topics such as Health
And Fitness In Clinical And Worksite Settings (HK 266) and
Health Screening And Fitness Evaluation And Prescription
(HK 421).
Physical Education
Courses for future athletic trainers, physical education teachers,
and coaches. 93 different topics, ranging from how to train properly
and prevent injuries (Exercise Physiology, HK 368 &
468), to why we have physical education programs (History And
Philosophy Of Physical Education, HK 210), to how to teach
individual skills (Creative Rhythms And Dance, HK 103).
Physical Education Skills
Courses intended to enhance the lifestyles of Purdue students.
Currently 33 different skills, including Beginning Swimming
(PES 112B), Horseback Riding
(PES 118), Golf (PES 116F).
