Health & Kinesiology academic advisors work with students, faculty, staff, and administration to maintain and improve the quality of education in the College of Liberal Arts and Purdue University as a whole. As advisors, we are committed to supporting each student in developing and implementing an individualized plan for academic success and career development.
The Department of Health and Kinesiology is one of eleven departments within the College of Liberal Arts with a unique set of responsibilities: the preparation of scholars who will contribute to knowledge and understanding of human behavior across the life span within the contexts of health, movement and sport sciences, and health and fitness; the preparation of professionals as teachers, coaches, athletic trainers, health education/promotion specialists, and health and fitness service providers and managers; and more importantly, the preparation of students who seek knowledge, experiences, and skills in various areas of study (i.e., athletic training; health promotion; health and fitness; exercise physiology; sport psychology; sport, fitness and health management; sport and health pedagogy; motor development; biomechanics; motor control; and others).
