Advanced Research Methods, Quality Faculty

Grounded in the most advanced theoretical, empirical and applied methods, the department’s programs of research and scholarship endeavor to expand the realm of knowledge across a variety of disciplines within Health and Kinesiology. For example, research by our faculty and students has focused upon various topics:

  • Infant motor development related to reaching and walking behavior
  • Reliability of somatosensory measures in postural stability
  • Neural and mechanical systems interaction in balance and mobility (Rietdyk).
  • Metabolic processes that occur in response to exercise stimulus (Sedlock).
