Health and Kinesiology Professional Organizations
Why Join a Professional Organization
Joining a professional organization is a quick and easy way to
demonstrate professional maturity to potential employers. Most organizations
publish newsletters, hold conferences, and provide up-to-date professional
information through e-mail lists. Professional organization can
make an individual more marketable and more knowledgeable, and can
provide networking opportunities.
In the infamous words of Health and Kinesiology professor Dr. Seehafer,
“This is a rank order world. What do you have that makes an
employer want to hire you over someone else?" Being part of
a professional organization can set someone apart from their competition.
