Teaching Support
To attract innovators who solve the world's toughest problems, to support pacesetters who shape the academic frontiers, and to retain masters who mentor and engage . . . . the College has one of the most accomplished faculties in American higher education—but we must increase our focus on recruiting the next generation of scholars, and retaining current accomplished scholars, as competition for talent intensifies and new disciplines emerge.
The William Byham Chair in Industrial/Organizational Psychology will bring a leading educator and researcher in the field of I/O Psychology to CLA’s Dept. of Psychological Sciences – enhancing and building upon an already strong reputation and program for that field of discipline here at Purdue.
A matching gift from donor Ed Kaplan has allowed the Jewish Studies Program in the College recruit a new assistant professor for the Jewish Studies Program. With an increasing number of students enrolling in courses through the Jewish Studies Program, including many from outside a Liberal Arts degree area, The College has the opportunity to grow the Jewish Studies Program through additional faculty.
The James S. Nairne Fund for Undergraduate Teaching in the Department of Psychological Sciences provides a funding source for the purchase of materials and equipment to be used for teaching classes at the undergraduate level and for other expenses related to the enrichment of the educational experience of undergraduates, including books, audio or video material, displays, and other needed equipment.
