The conference will open on Thursday, November 1, with registration and opening addresses. Sessions will run through Friday and Saturday, with the plenary address and banquet on Saturday evening. For those who are interested in staying through to Sunday, 4 November, we shall be hosting a working breakfast, chaired by Alan Palmer, to discuss the conference’s conclusions and propose directions for future research.

During the Fall semester of 2007, Howard Mancing and Paula Leverage will be team teaching a graduate seminar on Theory of Mind and Literature for our students. On the Wednesday evening, prior to the conference (October 31), this seminar will be led by Alan Palmer. We extend an invitation to our conference participants to attend this seminar.

We shall be showing Roger Michell’s 2004 film adaptation of Ian McEwan’s novel Enduring Love (New York: Doubleday, 1997) as part of the conference. A session is scheduled for the discussion of the film and novel, which you might like to read before the conference.
