There are many sites on the Web that offer information about publishing.

The Association of American University Presses (AAUP) offers catalogues for member presses and information and links related to publishing.

The Copyright Management Center is a good source of advice on copyright and permissions.

Access the Purdue Online Writing Lab for advice and information about writing. Explanations of both MLA and APA style are available here, on the pages, in printer friendly format, and in PDF format for download. The site also offers lists of reference works, style manuals, and other resources.

An online edition of Elements of Style by William Strunk, Jr., is available from the Bartleby Archive at Columbia.

The Modern Language Association Web site contains a page describing MLA style.

The Chicago Manual of Style is scheduled to go online (subscriptions available) in September 2006. Go to this site for information about the manual itself, Chicago style, and the new online offering.

APA style is described on this page sponsored by the American Psychological Association.
