UPDATE: April 23, 2008
Hello everyone!
I know it's been awhile since I've talked to some of you so I wanted to fill you in on what's been going on in my life. After working at Entertainment Tonight for over a year I have decided to move on. I had known for awhile that was not where I wanted to be, so was looking for the right opportunity to come along, and luckily, it did. I am now working at a company called The Ant Farm. We do movie trailers, TV spots, movie posters, video games and more. The company is really great and it's the number one motion picture advertising company in the industry. Some of the movies we're working on now are Iron Man, the newest Harry Potter, GI Joe, and so many more. You can check out our website to see some of the stuff that we have done. It's www.theantfarm.net. I already love working here. Everyone is really great and the material we put out is just amazing. Our halls are lined with movie posters they've done in the past and, to me, it's just inspiring. On the side I am doing script coverage for a few different agencies and producers to keep myself in the pre-production side of the game in case I ever want to go back to that. Script coverage is where you read a script and then write about it - condensing the story, pointing out the writer's strengths and weaknesses. When I'm done I send it back to the agents and producers, and they read what I write and decide whether or not to move forward with the script or not.
I moved in February from West Hollywood to North Hollywood. North Hollywood is in the valley and I'm very close to Universal Studios, Disney Studios, and Warner Brothers Studios. While living in the valley doesn't have a glamorous reputation, it has been developed into a very nice area. Plus I went from a very crappy, expensive apartment, to a much cheaper, much nicer apartment. I got a roommate, my friend Dory that I met at ET, so that also helped ease the price. She and Wrigley (my dog) get along so well and I know he loves having her around. He's still not used to the idea that she will always come back. It's so cute. Wrigley is doing very well. Our next door neighbors have a year old bulldog named Butcher and the two are the best of friends. They play all the time and whine for each other when they are not together. I refer to Wrigley as the neighbor kid that just won't leave because he's always barging into the apartment next door! But Jennifer and Deano, Butcher's owners, don't mind. They fell in love with Wrigley right away!
I've been out here just under two years now and I have made a really great, solid group of friends. While my Entertainment Tonight experience wasn't all I had hoped it would be, I made amazing friends there. And for that I am very thankful. A few of us spent Thanksgiving together last year and although I would have loved to have been home with my family, I had a very good time. Los Angeles is definitely home to me now, but I still call Indiana home too. I have no scheduled plans to come back to the Midwest right now, but when I do, I will be sure to let everyone know. Please keep me updated and your life and all that it is you are doing. I love and miss you all!
