Crystal Dahl

Crystal Dahl will complete her service with Teach for America this summer and receive her Masters in Education from the University of Pennsylvania. She is currently teaching high school Spanish in North Philadelphia. Relying on her experiences at Purdue she also serves as the faculty advisor for the television production club at her school. Dahl instructs students in basic camera operation and shot composition as well as acting as a liaison between campus administrators and their partner educational management organization. It is her desire to continue serving youth in urban areas outside the classroom upon the completion of her commitment to Teach for America and to work with non-profit agencies when she returns to school to Africana Women’s Studies and Film Studies.
Ms. Crystal Dahl was awarded a prestigious MARC/AIM award to work with Professor Ben Lawton, Chair of the IDIS Film/Video Studies, on a project entitled: "Spike Lee: Portrait of a Controversial Black Director".
