The College of Liberal Arts (CLA) is home to over 6,300 students majoring in over 50 different programs with nationally recognized, award-winning faculty. Liberal Arts students will have the opportunity to meet other students from across the United States and the world. Additionally, they will share their classroom experiences with students from the multitude of majors within Purdue.
CLA students are encouraged to seek out rich academic experiences through study abroad, internships, student organizations, research opportunities, and more.

- Liberal Arts is the largest undergraduate college or school at Purdue - 20 percent of all undergraduate students at Purdue choose their major from within the college's 12 departments, Reuff School of Visual and Performing Arts, and 15 interdisciplinary programs.
- Liberal Arts offered 29.9% of the total student credit hours for all classes on the West Lafayette campus.
- Average Liberal Arts class size is 26 students.
- 14% of all CLA students are diverse.
- Consider participation in the Liberal Arts Honors Program (the oldest Honors Program at Purdue).
- Many CLA students study abroad in numerous programs within Liberal Arts.
- Liberal Arts is home to the 2008 Indiana Professor of the Year-Bob Lamb, who is a professor of English.
- Housed in the English department, the Online Writing Lab attracts Web users from around the world. Aimed at improving grammar, punctuation, and writing style, the service has received 93,841,830 hits from more than 125 countries during its first 8 1/2 years of service, surpassing 20 million hits per year each of the last four years.
