The College of Liberal Arts has four centers for faculty development. They are the Center for Artistic Endeavors, established in 1985; the Center for Behavioral and Social Sciences established in 1989; the Center for Humanistic Studies, established in 1980; and the Center for Undergraduate Instructional Excellence, established in 1991. Each center offers fellowships for faculty that include a semester release from teaching to devote themselves full time to a scholarly or creative project, a teaching assistant assigned to the fellow's department (if needed), and a $500 supplies and expense account. The fellowships are competitive and faculty are given the opportunity to apply once or twice a year depending on the center.
In the following links, information is available for each center including criteria for selection, a copy of the application which you may download, and a list of recipients and the titles of their projects.
