Welcome to the summer 2009 newsletter for the North American Victorian Studies Association!

This year's joint meeting with the British Association for Victorian Studies, on the theme of Past versus Present, is just a few weeks away. You can find all the details here.

If you missed last year's conference at Yale, you can still catch a few of the papers in Victorian Studies's NAVSA conference issue, due out very soon. {More}

The summer newsletter is always a treat, because it features the mammoth list of new and forthcoming book publications by NAVSA members. This year is no exception, with dozens of books on all manner of literary, historical, artistic, and interdisciplinary projects. {More}

Another benefit of membership, aimed at graduate students, is the annual prize for the best paper delivered at the NAVSA conference. We will offer this award again this year, and the instructions for applying are now available. {More}

The conference schedule for the next several years is available, in case you can't make this summer's meeting, or just want to plan ahead. {More}

Finally, one of the strongest testaments to the strength of Victorian studies is the breadth of opportunities to share one's research. As always, NAVSA is pleased to publicize announcements by other organizations or institutions working in the long nineteenth century. {More}
