Department of English Faculty Teaching Awards
NATIONAL AWARDS
Professor Robert Paul Lamb of the Department of English was named 2008 Indiana Professor of the Year by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching.
In March 2009, Professor Emeritus Thomas Ohlgren received the Robert L. Kindrick Award for Outstanding Service to Medieval Studies from the Medieval Academy of America, the nation's leading scholarly society for medievalists.

Charles B. Murphy Outstanding Undergraduate Teaching Award

Book of Great Teachers
The Book of Great Teachers is displayed in Purdue's Memorial Union. The book bears the names of faculty members, past and present, who have devoted their lives to excellence in teaching and scholarship. The Teaching Academy
Membership in the Teaching Academy recognizes outstanding teaching in the graduate, undergraduate, or outreach programs of the university. Individuals selected for this honor help promote the scholarship of teaching and learning and share their expertise across campus with their colleagues. Teaching for Tomorrow Fellowship Awards
This award is provided by the Classes of 1944 and 1945 to foster continued excellence in teaching and learning and to facilitate the development of the teaching potential of Purdue's faculty. Annually, it recognizes up to twelve assistant professors (or recently promoted associate professors) for their demonstrated talent for teaching and three senior faculty members for their long-term contributions to teaching at Purdue University.
