Two of the College of Liberal Art's 2008 Distinguished Alumni are Department of Communication graduates. Joann Pasquale DiGennaro, B.A., 1965, and Betsy Turner, B.A., 1977, returned to campus in April to accept their honors and meet with students.

A champion's cause
A salesman's story

A department associate professor helps secure passage of a bill supporting better insurance coverage for amputees' prosthetics.

Marifran Mattson is the chair of the Indiana Amputee Insurance Protection Coalition, and she worked alongside fellow amputees, prosthetists, and caregivers to see this bill through.

Department alumnus Johnny LeBlanc put 108,000 miles on his car within 16 months so he could be as visible as possible to his Cook Medical customers.

His reward: LeBlanc was recently made the youngest Regional Manager ever for Cook, a world leader in developing health-care devices, and now oversees the company's Northeast Region.
