Patricia Bresee, B.S., is serving as Chair of the Board of the Silicon Valley Community Foundation, the second largest community foundation in the U.S.

Nancy Pompian, B.S., retired as director of student disabilities services at Dartmouth College three years ago, after 24 years at the college, following 24 previous years as a book editor in New York and Boston. She and her husband live next to the campus in Hanover, New Hampshire; they will be married 50 years next March. They have two sons and four grandsons, in St. Louis and Denver. She rewrites for local magazines and has a consulting job with the Educational Testing Services.

Larry Samovr, B.A., Ph.D., was to be featured in a panel titled "A Conversation with Larry Samovar" at the 2008 NCA convention. The 12th edition of his "Intercultural Communication: A Reader" and 7th edition of his "Communication between Cultures" were also published by Cengage Publishers.

Myrvin F. Christopherson, M.S. (Ph.D., 1965), after 19 years as President of Dana College, Blair, NE, and 3 years as President of the Dana College Foundation, in July of this year, he was appointed Acting President of the Foundation for Independent Higher Education, Inc. (FIHE), Washington D.C. FIHE serves a network of 33 state fundraising, grant-making, and service organizations that in turn provide like services to over over 600 affiliated private colleges and universities in the U.S.

Karen Marshall Woods, M.A., continues to help small, faith-based and community benefit nonprofits build capacity and accountability and communicate effectively about their program outcomes. "The work is too amazing to be labeled work."

Kent J. Sheets, B.A., in May 2008, Sheets received the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine Excellence in Education Award for personal excellence in support of teaching and enhancing family medicine education. In September, he was promoted to Professor of Family Medicine and Medical Education in the University of Michigan Medical School.

Charles L. Cammack Jr., B.A., accepted the position of Director of Human Resources for Fort Wayne Community Schools.

1978
Randy Sipe, B.A., in June 2008 hired as media consultant for Main1Media, a comprehensive communication company in Indianapolis.

Kathleen J. Turner, Ph.D., served as the inaugural Scholar in Residence for the 2008 NCA Institute for Faculty Development, a.k.a. the Hope Institute at Randolph-Macon College. "One of the best aspects of the experience: getting to know Patrice Buzzanell leading one of the seminars!"

Mark A. Marchetti, B.A., is Director of Operations for a lighting manufacturer based in Taipei, Taiwan. Their domestic headquarters are in Fishers, Ind. His daughter recently won Rookie of The Year honors with Paychex, and has been married for two years to a great guy who is Regional Marketing Director for Papa Murphy's. "Life is good!"

D. Mark Robertson, B.A., is CEO of Coaches Choice/Healthy Learning. Coaches Choice and Healthy Learning, respectively, are the two divisions of Monterey Bay Productions. Currently he is working with the owner to optimize operations and attend to business development. This is a stellar company with more than a decade of experience in building rich media products and content libraries.

Liz Berry Schatzlein, B.A., is hosting a new medical program on WPTA, the ABC affiliate in Fort Wayne, IN. The program is called Docs on Call, and airs live on Tuesday evenings at 7:30. The show covers medical news, interviews with doctors, and viewer calls.

Ken Morris, B.A., is currently Communications & Marketing Manager, Grgich Hills Estate, a family owned and operated winery in Rutherford, CA.

Mark VanFossen, B.A., accepted and began employment with the LeSEA Broadcasting Network as the General Sales Manager for WHMB, TV 40 in Indianapolis.

Gregory Norwood Markey, B.A., is Program Manager - NMCI Account for EDS Electronic Data Systems in Porter, Ind.

Shelley Poston Triol, B.A., has been selected as a member of the 2008-2009 class of the The Richard G. Lugar Excellence in Public Service Series. As a participant in this national leadership program, Triol will receive specialized training for preparation to serve in key governmental and political positions.
Shelley is the vice president of Sease, Gerig & Associates, a management, communications and public relations consulting firm in Indianapolis.
Prior to this, she spent more than two decades in print and broadcast media, winning numerous journalism awards during her years with WTHR-TV and WXIN-TV. Her first book, a political biography, was published in 2007.

Angie Klink, B.A., is published in Republican's Soul; a book deemed "a political adventure filled with stories, photos, speeches, cartoons and trivia about what it means to be part of the GOP." Her essay, "Watergate: The Warm Fuzzies," is about how, through the cosmic wonder of it all, Watergate trickled through generations to unite Democrats and Republicans. The book is published by Health Communications Inc., the original publisher of the Chicken Soup for the Soul® series.

Patti Ising Weigand, B.A., has worked for IBM for 27 years in various communication areas then HR-related fields in Pennsylvania. As an HR administrator, she is a special event/meeting coordinator, and handles employment, benefits, contract/resource administration, education planning and HR measurements. She is married with one daughter currently attending Virginia Tech, majoring in psychology.

Charmaine E. Wilson, M.A., along with Sandra Hochel (Ph.D., 1973) published the following book: "Hiring Right: Conducting Successful Searches in Higher Education." The book is published by Jossey-Bass. This book is a practical guide for anyone involved with hiring in higher education. It is written for busy faculty, staff, and administrators who want to conduct more efficient, fair, and effective searches, but who don’t have time to investigate the large body of research on employment selection and communication.

Sharon Kay Mellor, B.A., received Doctor of Philosophy in Interdisciplinary Studies with a concentration in Organization Behavior/Development in January 2008 from Union Institute University.

1982
Don Kojich, B.A., in April, 2008, he was named the associate vice president for marketing and communications at the University of Illinois Foundation. UIF is in the middle of its $2.25 Billion Brillant Futures Campaign. Before accepting the position at Illinois, he was the executive associate VP for university relations at the University of North Dakota.

Rajani Tewari, B.A., received an M.S.W. in 1997 from NYU. At present, is the Program Coordinator at the Partial Hospitalization Program at Puerto Rican Family Institute in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Also has a small private practice in NYC as a psychotherapist. "But my heart is with my weekly food blog, about the intertwined paths of food and family in NYC."

Donna Samuels Rogers, B.A., and husband Dave are proud to announce that our daughter Brookley Rogers is a freshman this fall and is a defender on the Purdue Women's Soccer Team. She turned down an opportunity to play Ice Hockey at Yale, realizing that Purdue was the right fit for her both academically and athletically. She is studying interdisciplinary Science with a pre-med focus.

David Goad, B.A., lives with his wife Carol and two children in Tracy, CA. He is currently Senior Enterprise Field Marketing Manager for Cisco Systems based in Santa Clara, CA. David was recently judged as one of the top 20 speakers in the world in the 2008 Toastmasters International Speech competition (second place in Region 1) starting from a field of 25,000 competitors.

Ronaldo Jaime Dungan Castro, B.A., is Director for Communications - Asia Pacific for Goodyear Tire Rubber Company in Manila, Philippines.

Scott A. Scales, B.A., is getting ready to celebrate his 20th anniversary as a Senior Financial Advisor with Ameriprise Financial. Daughter Meghan is a freshman at Purdue in the school of Consumer and Family Sciences. Son Stuart is a Junior in high school this year and - based upon the reports from his sister - he is anxious to begin his days as a Boilermaker.

Jerry Renkenberger, B.A., just started offering Virtual Tours and other marketing tools for For Sale By Owner homes at YourTourNow.com. He continues to produce Virtual Tours, etc., for realtors as well.

Daria Verelley, B.A., is the Delivery Project Executive at International Business Machines Corporation, Southbury, CT.

Steve Jensen, M.A., is currently serving as a financial advisor with Wachovia Securities in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. Youngest daughter, Sarah, is a sophomore at Purdue.

Ron Castro, B.A., is currently Director for Communications for the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, Asia Pacific Region. In this capacity he manages brand and corporate communications for Asia covering Australia, New Zealand, China, India, Thailand, Taiwan, Korea, Philippines (where he is currently based on assignment), Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam and other distributor markets. He has been with Goodyear for 3 years now after working for Eastman Kodak Company, Greater Asia region for 10 years. He has two sons - Ryan (5) and Rocco (almost 1) and has been married to Anna Silva for more than 13 years now. "Recently, in Facebook, I got reunited with my first ever roommate at Purdue, Shreve Hall. Isn't that cool?"

Suzanne J. Miller, B.A., completed a M.A. in speech and language pathology. She now works at a hospital in Columbus, IN. Her two boys are mostly grown up at 18 and 17 years old. She has been married 20 years. "Life has been up, down, sideways, and wonderful."

Shawn Sheldon Ewell, B.A., is co-owner of Zephyr Realty in Palm Springs, Calif.

Johnny O’Connor, B.A., married Jennifer Hays on Dec. 1, 2007, in Tarkio, Montana.  John and Jennifer are the parents of Liam John O’Connor (2) and John is now step-father to Coley Schmidt (8) & Macy Schmidt (6). John is on the board of RATPOD, a 150-mile one day benefit ride for Camp Mak-a-Dream and also is a board member of FFMRP, a steering committee promoting the development of a 280-acre regional park in Missoula, MT. John is the immediate Past-President of the Montana Medical Group Management Association and President of Motion Medical Solutions, a Missoula-based durable medical equipment provider. John is also the Practice Administrator for Five Valleys Urology in Missoula.

TJ Adcock, B.A., has accepted a position at the Alcoa Technical Center outside of Pittsburgh as Manager of Trade Compliance. In this position she is responsible for all export controls on all new and existing technology developments for the Center.

Maria Nape, B.A., was named Director of the Southern Regional Office and Border Rights Project for the ACLU of New Mexico.

Anne Fliotsos, B.A., and co-author Wendy Vierow published "American Women Stage Directors of the Twentieth Century" (U of IL Press, 2008).

John Phillip Henderson, B.A., is the Retail Advertising Manager at the South Bend Tribune in South Bend, IN, where he's been employed for 18 years. He is also the Assistant Pastor of Living Water Church of God In Christ in Mishawaka, Ind.

Michelle Williams Harle, B.A., had her first baby in November 2007,  joined a new company called StoneHorse Enterprises, which does online publishing. She is the Partner and Chief Content Officer.

John Gibbons, M.S., since 2005 he has been serving as Senior Research Advisor for the The Conference Board, the NYC-based business think tank which, among many other things, generates the Index of Leading Economic Indicators and the Consumer Confidence Index. He is responsible for leading research practices in the area of Human Capital Analytics and Employee Engagement and, in 2006, launched our "branded" approach to human capital metrics called Evidence-Based Human Resources. His work has been cited in a variety of trade magazines including CEO, HR Executive, HR (SHRM's trade periodical), and T&D (ASTD's trade periodical). His recent study on cross-cultural approaches to employee engagement was recently selected as a case study at Harvard Business School. He lives in Brooklyn, N.Y. with domestic partner, Stephen Goldfinger, Md. "We live in a restored barn (one nice reminder of Indiana), enjoy gardening, international travel, and spoiling our chocolate lab Ariel. I remember my days at Purdue with a great deal of affection. The lessons I learned and the discipline I developed have served me well."

Kevin McDevitt, B.A., has been practicing Intellectual Property and Marketing Law since 1990. In 1998, Kevin co-founded the law firm Neal & McDevitt. Located in the Chicago area, the firm just celebrated its 10th Anniversary. The firm's Web site is located at www.nealmcdevitt.com.

Jeff Grinstead, B.A., Principal Computer Systems Architect for Raytheon, Intelligence and Information Systems, was named Systems Engineering Deputy Manager of the Air & Space Operations Centers - Weapon System Integrator Program, Colorado Springs, CO.

Sue Sgambelluri, B.A., is the Director of Corporate & Foundation Relations in the College of Arts & Sciences at Indiana University. She lives in Bloomington with husband Greg Dillon, who is Assistant Dean of Students at DePauw University in Greencastle.

Erin (Lally) DeBrota, B.A., lives in Zionsville, IN, with her husband, David, a Medical Advisor at Eli Lilly, and their four children, ages 10-17. She has been enjoying working at her consulting business, "Personality Science." Personality Science helps teens and adults learn more about themselves and the kinds of careers that would fit them best. Erin received her M.S. in Adult Education from Indiana University in 2007.

Laura Diane Straub White, B.A., is now the Office Manager/Event Planner at the Indianapolis Metropolitan Professional Firefighters Union Local 416. She has a 15-year-old son who is interested in studying engineering at Purdue eventually and a 13 year old who is interested in an aviation career through Purdue. She is also Women's Ministry leader at her church-Clermont CC.

Scott Hall, B.A., has been appointed to the newly established position of director of media relations at the University of Indianapolis.
Hall, 42, joined UIndy in 2004 as assistant director in the Office of University Communications. He previously worked in journalism for 14 years, winning statewide awards as a writer and editor at central Indiana newspapers including the Daily Journal of Johnson County and Nuvo Newsweekly.

Elizabeth Biewen Wilson, B.A., their daughter, Annika Delaney Wilson, was born last October at Fort Carson's Evans Army Hospital in Colorado Springs. "We are looking forward to celebrating her first birthday!"

RG Skadberg, B.A., became Executive Director of Christian Community Action, Porter County. The agency based in Valparaiso oversees a homeless shelter for families and group home for chronically, mentally ill women. RG and Ann (Com,'92; MS Counseling, '94) live in Valpo with two daughters.

Wendy Skoch Hart, B.A., began her Project Management Certification (part of her MBA) at Lehigh University (Bethlehem, PA) in May 2008. She has been employed by MetLife for nearly 10 years in the Institutional Business Division in Marketing.

Brandi Doyle (Schwartz), B.A., received employee of the month for Administaff's Houston service region after only being employed by the company for 10 months as a Senior HR Specialist.

Tammy L. (Schoening) Francesckina, M.S. (B.A., 1990), served as Quality Manager for Robert Bosch LLC in Clarksville, Tenn., for the past five years. In addition to current responsibilities, she was recently appointed global lead for commonizing quality systems and SAP processes for the Chassis Brakes Division of Robert Bosch LLC.

Maria Menotti, B.A., is a Claims Consultant, Law Department at CNA Insurance in Chicago.

Shelly L. Robinson, B.A., (M.A. 2002), is currently serving as the 2008-2009 President of Career Development Professionals of Indiana and recently received the Outstanding New Professional Award from the same organization in Spring 2008.

1994
Melissa (Blevins) Wilcoxson, B.A., in October 2007, she accepted the position of Advertising and Marketing Manager at Arkansas Children's Hospital. In this role she is in charge of brand management and hospital marketing communications - both external and internal. The communications between the hospital and referring physicians also falls into her purview. Arkansas Children's Hospital was recently named as one of Fortune's 100 Best Companies to Work For and to the U.S. News and World Report's list of Best Children's Hospitals. Her husband, Logan Wilcoxson (class of 1992), and she just celebrated the 5th anniversary of their indoor rock climbing center. Little Rock Climbing Center continues to be the premier climbing facility in Arkansas.

Lawrence Gregory Greenemeier, B.A., is the Associate Editor, Technology, for Scientific American Online.

Traci Schroeder Haly, B.A., is now a teacher at Christian Academy in Honolulu, Hawaii. She teaches Literature, Journalism and Speech to middle and high school students.

Lauren Kane Gallagher, B.A., a busy mom of three under the age of 4 years old, Lauren was promoted to Senior Manager of the Ariba Inc.'s Consulting Services organization. Ariba is a Spend Management company, headquartered in Sunnyvale, CA, but with a large office in downtown Pittsburgh, Pa., where Lauren is based.

Sarah Wannarka, B.A., accepted a position as an Assistant United States Attorney with the United States Attorneys Office, Western District of Texas, in the Major Crime Division.

John Fletcher, B.A., recently accepted a new position with XO Communications as a Senior Sales Engineer. Over the past 10 years he's worked in Technical Sales for AT&T, Qwest Communications, and SBC. He's designed complex communication networks for small businesses, Fortune 500 companies, and some of the largest hospitals in Chicago. He conducts small group training, as well as large seminars. "I would not be where I am today without the skills I learned at Purdue."

Shawn Shoop, B.A., began a new job as Vice President of Marketing & Business Development with The ProNet Group, Inc., based in Houston, Texas, working out of regional office in Tampa, Fla.

Monica Rohleder, B.A., recently became engaged to Timothy Duffy (a U of I Alum). Wedding is planned for September of 2009 in Chicago. In addition to her PR business, she also started blogging for a very cool Web site called Thespiritedwoman.com. She focuses on travel and technology.

Rachel M. Pokora, Ph.D. (M.A. 1993), Chair, Department of Communication and Theatre Arts, Nebraska Wesleyan University, was promoted to the rank of Professor. She also serves as the President of the board of Call To Action Nebraska.

Michelle Kuhn-Clark, M.A., and husband Jeff recently welcomed their first child, Andrew Leal Clark. She is now a stay-at-home mother.

Tanya Jordan, B.A., was recently promoted to Assistant Director of Special Events at Wayne State University.

Maureen (Kaiser) Richmond, B.A., and husband Tim are expecting their first child this November. They live in Cincinnati. She works as a public relations account supervisor at Northlich, a full service communications firm.

Angela (Rickard) Kiblinger, B.A., had a baby girl April 27, 2008.

Michael Retseck, B.A., and his wife, Meghan, celebrated the birth of their second daughter, Reaghan in April. They also have a 2-year-old girl named Mikaela. He received a promotion at Coty in March to Production Planner of Rimmel Cosmetics.

Bridget A. Williams, B.A., after 11 years of working in the hotel sales industry, she is now the Deputy Director of National Convention & Meetings with The American Legion National Headquarters in Indiananpolis.

Kimberly (Wilson) Preston, B.A., in March of 2008, she and husband Jeff moved back to Indianapolis from Washington, D.C., where she had been serving as Legislative Assistant for U.S. Senator Richard G. Lugar. Her areas of legislative responsibility included housing, trade, rural development, election and campaign finance reform, and labor. She is now working as the Director of Workforce and Education Initiatives for Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard.

Corey Anton, Ph.D., was recently elected as a Trustee on the Board of Directors for the Institute of General Semantics and was recently named a Fellow of the International Communicology Institute.

Courtney Strathman-Tambling, B.A., and husband Joe now reside in the Baltimore area. She is currently writing two works of fiction; one is a historical drama, and the other is a contemporary full of surprises. She also composes instrumental music. Her fourth CD was produced recently and is under limited release.

Joye Gordon, Ph.D., recently traveled to Southeast Louisiana for a week-long data gathering trip in the wake of Hurricane Gustauv. The purpose of the research is to explore importance and trust of various information sources to identify barriers and motivations regarding heeding mandatory evacuation orders. The research is a replication of a study conducted following Hurricane Katrina in 2005.

Megan (Thom) Kearns, B.A., and husband Tim welcomed their first child - Evan Timothy on Jan. 27, 2008. Evan weighed 8 lbs. 5 oz. and measured 22 inches long. They also relocated from Milwaukee to Algonquin, Illinois, due to Tim's job transfer with General Electric. She received her teaching certification from Wisconsin in grades 1-8 in June 2007 from Cardinal Stritch University and did some substitute teaching prior to moving to Illinois. She is currently a full-time, stay-at-home mom.

Eve Scrogham, B.A., completed Nation's Triathlon on Sept 14 in Washington D.C. with Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. She is Assistant Director of the Ohio Union at Ohio State University and Interim Director of the Parent Association.

Laura Dashiell Brost, B.A., after five years in pharmaceutical sales, Laura recently took a position as Refractive Account Manager with Alcon Surgical, Ft. Worth, TX, selling cataract surgical devices.

Shannon Oliver, B.A., received second bachelor's degree and is working as a respiratory therapist.

Reena Friedman Watts, B.A., and William Anthony Watts Jr. had a beautiful baby boy on May 18. Rafael Meir Watts weighed 7lbs., 13oz.

Jennifer Slawson, B.A., graduated with her MBA from Kellogg School of Management in June and is working full time as a product manager for The Internet Movie Database (IMDb) in Seattle, WA.

Elizabeth (Soukup) Herman, B.A., received a Master's Degree in Social Work from University of Illinois at Chicago in 2005. She is currently a
Clinical Program Manager for Creative Care Management. She married Kevin Herman in 2006. Son David Herman was born in 2007.

Kristen DeWitt, B.A., is working for The Boston Consulting Group in Chicago and currently pursuing an MBA in Human Resources Management from DePaul University, Kellstadt Graduate School of Business.

Angie Fuller (Simmons), B.A., graduated with M.A. in Communications from University of Northern Iowa, May 2007. Was selected for Leadership Iowa's class of 2008-09 20 Under 40 Leadership award for community service and leadership in career.

Christy Schultz, B.A., married in April 2007. She works as a pharmaceutical sales representative for Pfizer in Rochester, N.Y.

Erin Vaughan, B.A., is celebrating a reinvented life. Since the birth of her daughter Ava Marie in 2004 she has struggled to balance life of parenthood and breadwinner. She has started working with a top two radio station in Fort Wayne, IN, as an Account Executive. "This position proves that all I have experienced has been for a reason. I continue to surprise myself with my successes, and thank my family and friends for their support and encouragement."

Teresa Smiley, B.A., is currently serving as a Peace Corps Volunteer in the former Soviet Republic of Moldova in Eastern Europe. Teresa is a Community and Organizational Development Specialist and works with four organizations in the city of Straseni.

Craig Terrill, B.A., had an exciting off-season from football! In July he had the opportunity to sing on stage with Garth Brooks in Las Vegas! The story was featured on the Seahawks.com Web site.

Amy (McDaniel) Mattox, M.A., was recently promoted to the position of Director of Graduate Admissions and Marketing at Huntington University in Huntington, IN. She oversees the recruitment, marketing and retention components for four master's level programs. Prior to this position, she was the senior admissions counselor in the undergraduate admissions department. Personally, she and husband Joe welcomed new daughter, Carly Elizabeth Mattox, on April 27, 2008. "I absolutely love being a mommy!"

Reem Maroun, B.A., currently lives in Jordan and is a proud team member of the Royal Hashemite Court, pursuing a career very relevant to his education at Purdue. He spends most of his time globe trotting to see as much of the world as possible. Recently (last three months) he's visited Italy, Lebanon, Aspen and Idaho.

Heather Muha-Schlotman, B.A., from the great Midwest to bustling East Coast, she recently moved from Indianapolis to Harrisburg, Pa., to work for PBS affiliate, WITF-TV. She produces, writes and hosts a 30-minute show called "HealthSmart." The show focuses on popular medical topics and gives viewers tips on how to live healthier every day. She also produces short form journalism series, reports live to raise money for PBS, and produces projects for their in-house production studio, Media Solutions.

Lauren Hale, B.A., started a new position at Purdue University as the Director of Corporate Development in the University Development Office. She formerly was the Director of Membership at the Lafayette-West Lafayette Chamber of Commerce. "I am very excited to be able to give back to Purdue!"

Vickie Aiello, B.A., and husband Dan Aiello (MS of Science - 2003) are enjoying time with their son Devin, and are expecting a little girl in January 2009.

Elizabeth Ogren, B.A., manages leisure marketing for Hyatt Hotels & Resorts, at the company's headquarters in Chicago, Ill.

Kate Brandon, M.A., is in her second year as a Theatre Ph.D. student at Wayne State University in Detroit, MI.

Karen Pulliam, B.A., is the director of communication for the College of Science (West Lafayette).

Elizabeth Hotz, B.A., is currently working in Denver, Colo., as a residential real estate agent with her father, Larry Hotz, at The Kentwood Company. She chose to enter into real estate as an opportunity to not only use my brain, but to use my exceptional "communication skills" to guide buyers effectively, ethically and exceptionally through one of the biggest transactions of their lives. She is also responsible for assisting in the marketing and the expanding of the award-winning Website. In her spare time, she is actively involved with the Pi Beta Phi Alumnae Club, Junior League of Denver, Fine Arts Foundation and the Anti-Defamation League.

Lindsay Walls, B.A., since graduation, has gone on to complete a master's in Public Policy Administration and a master's in Mass Mediated Communication, both from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. In June 2008, she returned to Indiana and accepted a position with Saint Joseph's College in Rensselaer as their Director of Publications and Media Relations.

Lindsay Begley-Roberts, B.A., moved from Intercollegiate Athletics to the Conference Division as a coordinator at Purdue. She and her husband welcomed a little girl on March 23, 2008. Her name is Reagan Elizabeth.

Jennifer Allen, B.A., is engaged to be married on May 16, 2009, to fellow alum Kevin Stuber from Krannert! They both live and work in Indianapolis and are doing great!

Chad Chism, B.A., has started an automotive detailing business and an online business with a partner selling their own design of lightweight sub-woofers.

Samantha Sok, B.A., is a public relations account executive at Schwartz Communications Inc.

Tiffany Stochel, B.A., is engaged to Matt Whisner, graduate of Ball State University. The wedding is set for September 2009. On a professional level, she still works at Coles Marketing Communications in Indianapolis but was promoted from PR/Marketing Assistant to Account Executive/New Media Specialist.

Emily Gallagher Kinder, is an Associate Merchandise Manager of Innovation at Hallmark Cards.

Sabrina Ann Cook, B.A., is a Public Relations Manager at Novint Technologies.

Joseph Pinter, B.A., currently in his second year at The John Marshall Law School in Chicago, Ill. Working as a marketing/public relations specialist at Acme World Sports, LLC.

Megan Turner Bushell, B.A., has been married a little over a year to husband John (who happens to be a Buckeye...yikes!) For the past 2.5 years, she's been working for Merrell as the sales/marketing coordinator in Michigan. Recently, she was promoted to
marketing specialist. Merrell produces footwear, apparel and bags and
strives to inspire the outdoor athlete in everyone.

Anthony Ten Haagen, B.A., graduated from the Boston University School of Law on May 18, 2008, with a Health Law Concentration. Anthony will begin his legal practice in September with the law firm Preti Flaherty in Portland, Maine.

Meredith Cantrell, M.S., started a new job this past March with the National Cancer Institute's Cancer Information Service. She is a communications specialist based out of Kansas City, Kansas.

Andrea Owen, B.A., lives in Clayton, N.C.

Benjamin Todd, B.A., who previously released a full-length feature, the 88-minute action feature called "LAST CHANCE," distributed by Electric Light Films. He moved to Chattanooga, Tenn., and has wrapped production on the prequel to "LAST CHANCE," which is called "Thick as Thieves." It was shot all in Chattanooga in high definition, and will be released next year. The film will be premiered at Purdue.

Julie Bair, B.A., got married in June to Christopher T. Bair, who graduated from Purdue in 2004 with a Bachelor's in Materials Science Engineering. They now live in northwest Indiana.

Emily Russell, B.A., is Asst. Director of Alumni and Parent Programs at Butler University.

Emily Hambidge James, is pursuing a master's degree in College Student Personnel Administration at Illinois State University. She is also working full time in fund raising for the university. She got married in July. Her husband, Cristopher, is also a Purdue alum, and they had the first wedding to ever be held on the Purdue University golf course.
After the ceremony, the Boilermaker Special took them to their reception at the Union. They currently reside in Bloomington.

Bo Feng, Ph.D., will receive the 2008 Outstanding Dissertation Award from the Interpersonal Communication Division of the National Communication Association in San Diego. Bo's dissertation, "Assessing features and effects of advice in supportive interactions in two cultures," was co-directed by Brant Burleson and Erina MacGeorge.

Kris Butler, B.A., works in the energy business in Dallas, TX.

Gwyn Zawisza, M.A., in April 2008, Gwyn was hired as an Account Coordinator at ExactTarget, an on-demand e-mail marketing and one-to-one digital communication software company in Indianapolis. Gwyn and her fiance, Tony, will be married on the Purdue campus in July 2009.

Dorella M. Caras (Powell), B.A., married Matthew Caras in November 2007. She will complete her MBA degree in December 2008 from the University of Indianapolis. In addition to working on her MBA, she is doing a business internship with a firm in Indianapolis.

Brett Howard, B.A., is now living in Downtown Indianapolis working for the Indianapolis Marriott Downtown. He is a supervisor in Event Operations for the largest convention hotel in Indiana. He is in charge of the accurate set-up and tear down for all the events held at the hotel.

Jenna Rump Hague, B.A., is an Income Development Representative for the American Cancer Society in Batavia, IL.

Marisa Gift (Ellsworth), M.A., is the Training Coordinator for Lutz & Company, PC in Omaha, NE.

2007
Rebecca Toloday, B.A., married Chris Toloday (BS ME '06) on Oct. 20, 2007.

Darcy Pizzi, B.A., recently moved from Lafayette's WLFI to Dayton, Ohio where she is working as a newscast director at WDTN, the local NBC affiliate. "It was an exciting change of pace from Lafayette to Dayton but I'm starting to find my way around the area and look forward to finding fun things to do in the area."

Carrie Dowling, B.A., continued on to get a Masters of Science in Information and Communication Sciences from Ball State University. Upon completion of that, she got a job with Orange Business Services and is working in downtown Chicago as an Associate Account Manager.

Jacqueline Hills, B.A., is finishing her master's in sport administration at Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio, and plans to graduate in May of '09. This summer she was able to do a marketing/public relations internship with D1 Sports Training and Therapy to expand upon her work experience before graduation.
D1 Sports is an elite training facility that incorporates personal training, physical therapy, and corporate wellness.

Val Niehaus, B.A., recently moved to Charleston, S.C., as part of her job with Levelwing Media (an interactive ad agency) as a Search Marketing Analyst.

Aubrey L. Walton, B.A., is an associate of the LA Sports & Entertainment Commission. Walton helps coordinate the event logistics for all of the Commission’s activities. This work includes event registration, recruiting, training and managing volunteers, gathering and cataloging items for silent auctions, handling logistics for the speakers and all other aspects of event management. She is also responsible for assisting in the editorial production and distribution of all LASEC printed materials and press releases. Before joining the Commission, Walton worked for Life Sports Management in Beverly Hills, handling media relations efforts for NBA clients for radio, television and print requests. She secured key sponsors for the LA Stars Charity Event, which was hosted by Baron Davis and Paul Pierce, and created and managed a concierge program for more than 50 NBA players.

Whitney Jansta, B.A., has been promoted to director of advertising and Web site management at Celebrations The Florist in Pensacola, Fla.

Katie Marie Levanduski, B.A., is a maintenance administrator for Hyland Software Inc. in Westlake, Ohio.

Rachel Rush, B.A., is pursuing a graduate degree in Human Resource Management at Purdue in Krannert's Master's program. "My undergraduate Communication degree is serving me well in graduate school and hopefully will continue to do so in my future career."

Rebecca de Souza, Ph.D., was selected to receive the 2008 CLA Distinguished Dissertation Award. Now Rebecca’s dissertation has been selected as Purdue's nominee for the Council of Graduate Schools/University Microfilms International Dissertation Award.
