Justin Grove
Grove speaks in historic Memorial Hall at Naval Academy

Justin Grove, B.A., 1997, was stationed at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md., while on Navy Reserve duty this summer. As an officer on staff, his responsibility was to assist in the mental, moral, and physical development of the incoming class of midshipmen, otherwise known as "Plebes." Grove joined the Plebes for calisthenics and lunch, and conducted counseling sessions throughout the day.

"Throughout my service at the Naval Academy, I was well served by my Communication background from Purdue. I earned a reputation for producing clearly and well-organized written materials and for speaking effectively and articulately, which is extremely important within a military setting. The officers I served with at the Naval Academy were very familiar with Purdue's excellent reputation, and I was always proud to say that I was a Purdue graduate."

In his civilian career, Grove was recently promoted by the White House to serve as Associate Director of External Affairs at the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), a federal government agency that regulates financial institutions. In this role, he is responsible for representing the White House by managing all strategic communications and outreach to the public.
