Basic Formatting

On your page's main content area (and in the content areas of extra columns you may choose to include) you can highlight text and use the toolbar for the following changes to the type formatting:

Bold
Bold Sample.

Italic
Italic Sample.

Text CoText Colorlor
Choose from among the preset options (you cannot enter any color code you want--if you need a color that is not available, contact the CLA web master to have that color added to this list for you).

Avoid using text color in a way that meaning will be lost if someone cannot see the differences in color.  Keep in mind that 7 to 10% of men are color blind.

Text SizText Sizee
Unlike in Microsoft Word, you don't enter a point value here (e.g. 12-point, 14-point, etc). Font sizes on web pages are relative to the default size for the page, so you use options such as "small" or "xx-large" to decrease or increase the font size from the standard.

FoFontnt
Choose a different font face. The default font for pages is Verdana; you may want to use Arial or Times New Roman for some things like headers, but you should stick with Verdana for body text.

SStyletyle
This is a very useful tool that you should use often to apply consistent, preset formatting. Click here for details about the very powerful Style button.
