The semester is coming to an end and I want to be sure that my summer Gender and Literature course pack is done. There is soooo much stuff that I want to add, but no time to do it all. So far our primary texts are: The Handmaid's Tale, Neuromancer, and Queen of Angels.
There are 4 graduate students who will be sitting in on the class, participating, and doing in-depth research project for the duration of the summer for graduate credit. These students will participate like the rest of the class and do weekly research presentations so that they can "strut their stuff" to the undergraduates enrolled in the class. After the class is over I will meet with this group regularly for the rest of the summer to discuss their research. This does promise to be fun.
As I decide what's going in the course pack I will post it here. I have already ordered a number of secondary books for the course (required for the graduate students) including The Cyborg Handbook, Simians, Cyborgs, and Women, and Technologies of the Gendered Body. Can you guess the theme??
