Dr. B's Blog!

Thursday, September 05, 2002:

Just thought I would check in to keep me honest. Not really in a writing mood today, so I set out for Barnes & Noble to get some work done. Sat there for a couple of hours went through about 10 pages of my chapter 2 draft, read a magazine, had a bowl of soup, and decided that I had to have new candles immediately! Packed up, bought a book and a magazine, and left :-) Oh well, better luck tomorrow. Maybe I'll start reading if my muse has truly left me. Okay, so I have no muse but if I can't force myself to write I need to blame it on someone, right?

Putting the finishing touches on a chapter draft and as always I am truly intrigued by how seemingly unrelated material can fit together so nicely.

I wonder if Michel Foucault thought about how his work on the notion of active citizenship and homosexual man/boy relationships in ancient Greece ( History of Sexuality v. 2 ) might fit in with the problems of educating Others when he wrote it? Probably not, eh? Well it doesn't matter as long it works! :-) I seems as if it is a good thing that I am finished for the night as I seem to be getting a bit loopy!

Now I remember why I stopped doing things like blogging. I become obsessed and then I look for every bell and whistle that I can find. Today I found a dohickey that let's me post to my blog from AIM. This is my first post with it. Even though it took me like 2 hours of searching for blog related items to come across this one, in the long run it should save me a bit of time on each post!

It's been a while since I posted. As I have not had a class use blogs since December of 2001 I have let this fall by the way side. But now, I have decided to go ahead and pick things up. I am on research leave this semester so I am at home (or the local Barnes and Noble) working diligently.
More later I am sure.
