Swen Ervin

Swen has worked at Purdue since soon after graduation, first serving as an international credentials analyst in the Office of International Students and Scholars before moving into the Office of Admissions in January 2005. As assistant director, he spends much of his time recruiting and advising high school students and their families whether they are interested in attending Purdue or college in general. He primarily recruits in Northwest Indiana, Ohio and New England. Swen also assists with coordination of Purdue’s national admissions open house program, Preview Purdue, and is editor of the Purdue Advisor, an e-newsletter for high school guidance counselors and college academic advisors.

Swen has served on the CLA alumni Board since 2006. He also serves as staff advisor for a fraternity and a sorority on campus. Additionally, he is a committee chair for the Purdue Black Caucus of Faculty and Staff and works with the Greater Lafayette Chapter of the Indiana Black Expo.
