Beginning in 2007, the Alumni Board wanted to recognize young alumni (40 years old and younger) who are rising stars in their fields and have shown true potential to be great leaders. To date six young CLA alumni have been the recipients of the EVA.

In cooperation with the College of Liberal Arts and the Purdue Alumni Association, the Alumni Board annually gives three awards:

• The Distinguished Alumni Award,
• The Outstanding Senior Award, and
• The Emerging Voice Award.
