Position Review & Recruitment Procedures

Faculty

Faculty Recruitment Procedures - This document outlines the posting and recruitment procedures for Faculty Positions. It describes the total process from posting the position to obtaining approval for the proposed hire. When a hiring decision is made, prior to extending an offer, the Appointment to the Faculty, Lecturer and Administrative Professional Checksheet (Yellow Checksheet) should be completed and sent to the Dean’s Office for approval.

Visiting Faculty Recruitment Procedures - This document outlines the recruitment and hiring procedures for Visiting Assistant Professors, Visiting Instructors and Lecturers. It describes the total process from obtaining authorization to hire to obtaining approval for the proposed hire. When a hiring decision is made, prior to extending an offer, the Yellow Checksheet should be completed and sent to the Dean’s Office for approval.

Appointment to the Faculty - Checksheet (yellow checksheet) - This document is used to obtain approval for faculty hires (Regular Faculty, Visiting Faculty, Instructors and Lecturers). It should be completed and forwarded to the Dean’s Office prior to extending a written or verbal offer to the candidate. For convenience purposes this form is also used for obtaining approval for Administrative/Professional positions as well.

Job Description Review Procedures - A/P and Clerical Services Positions - This document outlines the procedures to be followed when you are considering posting positions that are existing, new or revised. This document must be used in conjunction with the Affirmative Action Procedures Checklist - Administrative/Professional or Affirmative Action Procedures Checklist - Clerical/Service if you plan to post the position you have created or revised.

Affirmative Action Procedures Checklist - A/P Recruitment - This document outlines the posting procedures from the creation of the search plan to documenting the hiring decision.  When a hiring decision is made, prior to extending an offer, the Yellow Checksheet should be completed and sent to the Dean’s Office for approval.

Clerical Service

Affirmative Action Procedures Checklist - Clerical/Service Recruitment - This document outlines the posting procedures from the creation of the search plan to documenting the hiring decision. For these positions the Documentation of Clerical/Service Hiring Decision Form should also be used.

Documentation of Clerical/Service Hiring Decision - This document relays information to the Dean’s Office regarding the final candidate selected for Clerical/Service Positions. It should be used to secure approval for the hire and the requested salary prior to extending an offer to the candidate. Since a quick reply is often required, a section is included on the form requesting the name, phone number and e-mail address of who to contact once the approval has been obtained.
