In the third year of study, graduate students focus on production of their M.F.A. exhibition and thesis. M.F.A. candidates are required to present a substantial and professional-quality gallery installation of their final body of work that demonstrates professional competence in studio art or design. Candidates are also required to present a public gallery talk about their work during their exhibition. At the end of their program, candidates defend their exhibition and thesis in an oral examination conducted by their graduate committee.

The Patti and Rusty Rueff Galleries are available for M.F.A. exhibitions. In order to secure exhibition space, graduate students must have their committee sign the M.F.A. Graduate Exhibition Agreement Form. This form must then be returned to the Gallery Coordinator in
room 1190H.

Email any questions to Lindi Kistler at lkistler@purdue.edu.

For more information, visit the M.F.A. website.
