Summer English Program
Welcome to the website of the Summer English Program at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana.
The Summer English Program at Purdue University teaches general academic English. We have a variety of courses, some of which are designed specifically for those who wish to improve their language abilities in the technological, engineering, and scientific sectors. The program serves to prepare students who hope to pursue degrees in these academic disciplines in US universities as well as professionals who want to strengthen their ability to use English in their fields.
The Summer English Program is located on the Purdue University campus in West Lafayette, Indiana. West Lafayette/Lafayette is a college town of approximately 90,000 people, and is 60 miles northwest of Indianapolis and 120 miles southeast of Chicago. Purdue University was founded in 1869 and is recognized nationally and internationally for its outstanding programs of Agriculture, Biomedicine, Engineering, Liberal Arts (including Humanities, Social Sciences, and Arts), Life Sciences, Management, Nursing, Science, Technology, and Veterinary Medicine. Among the world-renowned faculty of Purdue, Dr. Ei-ichi Negishi was recently awarded the Nobel Prize in chemistry. This year US News & World Report ranked Purdue the 18th best public university in the USA.
