Academics

The value of an education in a liberal arts college is not learning of many facts but the training of the mind to think something that cannot be learned from textbooks.
Albert Einstein (1879-1955)

Pre-Medical Studies

The liberal arts pre-medical options offered by the College of Liberal Arts is designed for students who want a diversified education. The advantage of this option is that you can do everything specifically necessary to prepare for medical school while satisfying a personal intellectual goal. You are encouraged, as much as possible, to tailor your course selection to your interests in any areas within the liberal arts.

Most medical schools specify that the major does not affect admission decisions. Other factors being equal, they prefer a diversity of majors in their entering classes. If you really want a liberal arts education, you should pursue that goal. It will not affect your admission prospects.
