Frequently Asked Questions
How do I CODO into the College of Liberal Arts?
In order to CODO (Change of Degree Objective), you need to request CODO papers from the registrar and take them to your current college to get signed out. Then, bring both copies of the signed form to BRNG 1114. Tell the receptionist you need to sign up for a CODO meeting. You will be signed into CLA and assigned an advisor at that time.
Can I graduate with a "general" Liberal Arts degree?
No. In order to earn a degree from the College of Liberal Arts, you must complete a specific major (i.e. English, History, Psychology, etc).
What is Red-Lining?
As of August 2008 Purdue has discontinued the "Red-Lining" policy. "Red-Lining" refers to the removal of a course from a student's GPA calculation. This does not, however, mean that the course is removed from the transcript. For more information, please consult with your academic advisor.
I would like to take a summer course at another institution. Will Purdue accept these credits?
Students who wish to complete courses at other institutions should first complete a CTR Form 5. These forms are available in Schleman 108 or from your advisor. The Purdue credit evaluation office will examine the course description and determine how the course will transfer to Purdue.
Can I double major outside of Liberal Arts?

A student wishing to obtain a dual degree must complete all degree requirements for each major, including all general education and CLA core requirements.
