Sociology and Anthropology

The Department of Sociology and Anthropology is the center for research, teaching, and applications in Sociology (including Law and Society) and Anthropology at Purdue.

At present, the department has nearly 450 undergraduate majors and about 80 graduate students. There are 40 faculty members, of which 29 are sociologists and 11 are anthropologists. Several have joint appointments with other programs, including African-American Studies and Women’s Studies. We welcome you to visit our Sociology section and Anthroplogy section listings.
