ASSISTANT/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR POSITION IN AUDIOLOGY
Tenure-track 10-month Assistant/Associate Professor position available in the Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences at Purdue University beginning Fall, 2009. Ph.D. required, CCC-A preferred. The successful candidate is expected to pursue an active research program in clinical audiology. Areas of research may include amplification, cochlear implants, otoacoustic emissions, and auditory processing disorders. Purdue has a strong interdisciplinary hearing research group and the department offers both Au.D. (offered jointly with the Indiana University School of Medicine) and Ph.D. degrees. Department teaching needs include undergraduate and graduate clinical courses in Audiology, including amplification. In accordance with its strategic plan, the Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences at Purdue University invites applications for an Assistant Professor who will pursue an active research program in the area of autism spectrum disorders. This position is a tenure track 10-month appointment available Fall, 2009. Ph.D. required. Numerous opportunities are available for interdisciplinary collaboration in neurosciences, linguistics, education psychological sciences, or pharmacological sciences. There is also support infrastructure for developmental research, with NIH and NSF funded faculty in areas such as infant speech perception and production, language and speech development and disorders, attention, and neuroimaging. Purdue boasts a top ranked clinical program with a rich pediatric population. The successful candidate may teach in his/her area of specialization and will be expected to contribute to the undergraduate and graduate teaching needs of the department.
