Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) Program

The Doctor of Philosophy is the highest earned degree awarded by Purdue University. A rigorous academic and research-oriented program of study is required to complete this degree. The Ph.D. student follows an individualized program, which includes coursework, seminars, directed studies, and research projects. The emphasis of the Ph.D. program is research training. The Ph.D. student is required to complete a dissertation, which is a scholarly work designed to reflect the student's ability to conduct independent original research.

The Ph.D. program is either a Post-Baccalaureate or Post-Master's program. The deadline for accepting applications to the Doctor of Philosophy in either Speech-Language Pathology or Audiology is January 15th, for Fall and August 15th for Spring. If you do not require funding the deadlines are March 15th for Fall and October 15th for Spring. For more information about the Ph.D. programs please click on the Request for Graduate Information in the side bar or you may contact the graduate secretary at 765/494-3786 or e-mail baileywf@purdue.edu.  Also see the Graduate Handbook or click on Admission Information.

We are interested in recruiting new Ph.D. students.
