NEW DEADLINE FOR FALL APPLICATIONS IS JANUARY 1st!

We are transitioning to CSDCAS the centralized application service for M.S. and Au.D applicants.  Our new deadline will be January 1st.

The Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences (SLHS) is part of the College of Liberal Arts.  Through the Graduate School, it offers programs of study in speech and language pathology, audiology, speech and hearing science, and linguistics.  Graduate study and research leading to the M.S., Au.D and Ph.D. degrees are pursued in areas such as speech and language pathology, diagnostic and rehabilitative audiology, speech and language acquisition, linguistics, augmentative and alternative communication, speech and hearing physiology, experimental phonetics, psychoacoustics, bioacoustics, and neuro-science.

As clinicians and behavioral scientists, students study the receptive and productive aspects of normal and pathological communication.  Specific attention is given to the auditory, respiratory, phonatory, and articulatory processes, as well as the perceptual, cognitive, and linguistic processes associated with communication.  Graduate programs are highly individualized.  A major professor and an advisory committee guide each student.  Each program is designed to balance formal graduate instruction, seminars, research, and/or clinical training in such a way that the student's career objectives may be realized.  The academic program holds accreditation by the Council on Academic Accreditation of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association for both Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology.
