Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) Program
NEW DEADLINE FOR FALL APPLICATIONS IS JANUARY 1st!
We are transitioning to CSDCAS the centralized application service for M.S. and Au.D applicants. Our new deadline will be January 1st.
It is the mission of SLHS through the sequences of academic and clinical education leading to the Au.D. Degree to:
- Recruit and retain excellent students who are committed to the profession of audiology and the delivery of high quality clinical services.
- Provide students with a solid foundation in the science of audition and the skills to conduct and promote evidence-based clinical practice.
- Develop audiologists who have the diagnostic and rehabilitative clinical skills necessary to fulfill the current scope of practice in a culturally sensitive manner, across the life span in a wide variety of clinical settings.
Au.D. students receive clinical education at the Purdue University M.D. Steer Audiology Clinic, the Indiana University Medical Center through the Department of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery, educational audiology placements, and other audiology clinics all within driving distance of the West Lafayette campus. The combination of placements provides students with the full range of current audiology scope of practice experiences.
Applied research competencies in the Au.D. Program are developed through didactic coursework, joint projects with the research Ph.D. students, participation in research and development (R&D) team projects with the Purdue University "Engineering Projects in Community Service (EPICS)" program, interaction with hearing aid manufacturers and participation in an applied research activity which culminates in a written product.
