Dr. Novak holds the Certificate of Clinical Competency in Audiology he is the ASHA Program Director. Dr. Novak specializes in the areas of hearing amplification, educational audiology, and adult/geriatric aural rehabilitation over his twenty three year academic career. Dr. Novak facilitates the development of the Purdue University Doctoral Education Programs, which now include the Audiology (Au.D.) degree and the Doctor of Philosophy, both offered in partnership with the Indiana School of Medicine Department of Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery. Dr. Novak serves as the liaison between Purdue's two accredited degree programs, the Master's of Science in Speech-Language Pathology and the Hearing Association. He became Department Head in 2007.
In addition to administrative and teaching responsibilities, Dr. Novak is involved with research in amplification, aural rehabilitation, clinical practice, and student supervision.
