Grant and Funding Opportunities
ON BEHALF OF CHRISTINE KING:
In order to be responsive to the needs of faculty writing small external research grant proposals, the OVPR proposal coordinators (grant writers) now are available on a very limited basis for individual consultations.
Possible services provided in these consultations include:
Discussions of the call for proposals and its requirements
Help in developing a timeline for the project
Discussion of an outline
Discussion of a specific area of the proposal, such as the problem overview
The process below outlines how faculty may make use of this service:
No later than one month prior to the proposal deadline, send an e-mail to proposalcoordinator@purdue.edu to request a meeting. Please attach the sponsor's call for proposals a draft or outline of your proposal, if available, and any other relevant documents. If the proposal is a resubmission, please also include any reviews you may have received. In the body of the e-mail, please describe the help you would like.
The OVPR proposal coordinator staff will review your request, and as much as time allows, the person whose expertise most closely matches your project will contact you to set up a meeting, generally within one week of a request.
The designated proposal coordinator will review your materials prior to the meeting and offer suggestions during the meeting.
It is the hope and expectation of the OVPR that this additional service will be of benefit to a number of faculty for whom a half-hour consultation with a professional grant writer could improve their chances of success. Please note that this service does not provide editing or writing for proposals.
Program Announcement (PA) Number: PA-09-169
This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) encourages investigator-initiated research grant applications from institutions/organizations that propose to conduct behavioral and/or biomedical research aimed at better understanding the etiologies and precursors for, reducing risk for, and incidence of, teen dating violence (TDV). Research is also sought that examines the linages and gaps among perceptions of appropriate responses to teen dating violence from service providers, the criminal justice system, teens themselves, victims, perpetratiors, and bystanders.
