PTGS 55100 : Brazilian Poetry; Instructor approval is required. A survey of the major currents and most important writers of Brazilian poetry. Readings include Gregório de Matos, Gonclaves Dias, Castro Alves, Mário de Andrade, Manuel Bandeira, and Cecília Meireles.

PTGS 55500 : Brazilian Drama; Instructor approval is required. A survey of the primary movements and most important works of Brazilian theatre. Readings include plays by Nelson Rodrigues, Dias Gomes, Ariano Suassuna, and Jorge Andrade.

PTGS 55700 : Brazilian Fiction; Instructor approval is required. A survey of the development and major texts of Brazilian fiction. Readings include novels or short stories by José de Alencar, Machado de Assis, Graciliáno Ramos, and Clarice Lispector, among others.

PTGS 59400 : Special Topics in Luso-Brazilian Literature; Topics vary. Permission of instructor required.
