Major Requirements

To obtain a major in Classics at Purdue University, the student must complete 33 credit hours and establish a reading proficiency in either the Latin or Greek languages.  These credit hours may be satisfied using  a plan of study including introductory courses, courses in literature and linguistics, history, philosophy and art and/or archaeology.  More information on specific courses for a major can be obtained through the link above.

Minor Requirements

Students may also pursue a minor in Classics by completing 15 credit hours.  More information on specific courses for a minor can be obtained through the link above.

While there are no graduate degrees in Classics at Purdue, Classics faculty has served as committee directors and advisors for graduate students in comparative literature and other fields.
