In an attempt to give students advance notice of textbook orders, the Office of the Provost and the Office of the Vice President for Student Services are asking that textbook orders be placed on departmental websites as they are supplied to the area bookstores. If you could put an icon on your homepage that says Textbook Orders, this information should be easily accessible for students. A list of books being ordered organized by course titles, professors, ISBN’s, authors, and editions would be very helpful to students.

This process will require the academic scheduling officers to concurrently link their textbook lists to their particular websites when the textbook lists are sent to the bookstores thereby allowing students and the bookstores to have equal access to the information.

The Student Services Technology and Assessment (SSTA) office will assume responsibility for managing a centralized textbook listing on SSINFO via links to websites of Purdue’s colleges, schools, and departments. Once the textbook lists are posted on departmental websites, the SSTA staff will establish a link to SSINFO. The goal is to have a centralized resource with lists of all the reported textbooks for all courses.
