Degree Description

The program is based on the idea of studying human movement and sport from the point of view of the sub-disciplines in kinesiology. The curriculum includes courses in exercise physiology, biomechanics, motor control, motor development, sport and exercise psychology and sport history. Students take advanced courses in 3 of these areas of study. After a student completes basic and advanced courses in the sub-disciplines of kinesiology, he or she works with a professor to conduct some thoughtful research or scholarship in one of these areas. The goals of the movement and sport sciences program are to have the student obtain a Bachelor of Arts degree and to be prepared for professional education (eg. medicine, physiotherapy) and graduate school in kinesiology.
