Research Interests:
Dr. Klenosky’s research interests are broad but generally center on elucidating the processes and factors influencing decision making behavior in leisure, sport and tourism settings. He has expertise in a variety of methodological approaches ranging from quantitative techniques, such as conjoint analysis, to more qualitative approaches, such as laddering/means-end analysis (an approach for developing a better understanding of the variety of factors -- product attributes, desired benefits, and personal values -- involved in the decision-making process). Other research by Dr. Klenosky has examined the influence of specific marketing, situational, and environmental factors on recreation and travel decision-making. Recent efforts have centered on examining the factors influencing recreation decision making in post-industrial urban settings. Dr. Klenosky’s research has been published in a variety of outlets including the Journal of Business Research, International Journal of Research in Marketing, Journal of Leisure Research, Annals of Tourism Research, Journal of Travel Research, Journal of Tourism Studies, Tourism Analysis, Tourism Management, Journal of Sport Management, and the International Journal of Sport Management. He is currently an Associate Editor for Leisure Sciences and the Journal of Travel Research.
