Language Placement Testing

2012 STAR Placement Testing

  • Languages Tested: French, German, Japanese, Latin, Russian, Spanish, and Spanish for Heritage Speakers
  • Dates:  Jun 18 - July 12, 2012 (Weekdays only; no tests on Jul 4th)
  • Time: 10:30 am - 4:00 pm
  • Location: Stanley Coulter Hall 231
  • Note: Russian & Japanese tests may not be started after 3:00 pm; no other tests may be started after 3:45
  • Required:
    • Photo ID such as your PUID card, valid driver's license, or valid passport
    • Verification of your PUID number and/or a completed Form 231 (usually found in among materials received from Purdue.  Form 231 may be obtained from your academic advisor.  If you have not seen your academic advisor at the time of the test, please make sure to provide some official Purdue documentation that contains your PUID number.

FALL 2012 Placement Testing

Chinese Placement Testing
  • Date: Monday August 20, 2012
  • Time: 2 Hour test begins at 7:00 pm
  • Location: Stanley Coulter Hall G030
  • Required:  Form 231, signed by your advisor
French, German, Japanese, Latin, Russian, and Spanish Placement Testing
  • Languages Tested: French, German, Japanese, Latin, Russian, Spanish, and Spanish for Heritage Speakers
  • Dates: August 15, 16, 17, 20
  • Time: 6:00 pm
  • Location: Stanley Coulter Hall 231
  • Required: 
    • Form 231, filled out and signed by your advisor
    • Valid Purdue ID (PUID Card)
    • Second form of identification with Photo ID (such as current passport or Driver's License)
    • If you do not have a valid PUID card please provide Purdue documentation of your name with your Purdue ID number

General Placement Test Information

  • A Purdue Form 231 signed by your academic advisor is required to take any test
  • Additional information and assistance is available from your academic advisor
  • Valid identification is required to take any test
