Accommodations – On Campus

IMPORTANT: There is an acute shortage of lodging in Bloomington on October 16 – 19th. The following are suggestions for securing accommodations during this time period if you have not yet done so.

    1. If you have a friend, relative or colleague who lives in the Bloomington area, we would greatly appreciate it if you could make arrangements to stay with that person.
    2. Contact the Indiana Memorial Union at: 800.209.8145 or 812.856.6381. The IMU is the official site of the conference. It is located in the 900 block of East 7th Street. Because of the unexpectedly large turnout for the conference, the block of rooms reserved for conference participants is currently filled. However, lodging reservations change frequently. We suggest that you contact the IMU. You MUST tell them that you are a NAVSA participant. NAVSA participants will receive priority on any hotel cancellations.
    3. Contact the Hampton Inn
      o Location: 2100 N. Walnut Street
o Short driving distance from campus, not walking distance
      o Phone: 812.334.2100
o Note: You must identify yourself as a NAVSA participant.
    4. Contact Econolodge
      o Location: 2601 N. Walnut
o Short driving distance from campus, not walking distance
      o Phone: 812.332.9453
o Note: You must identify yourself as a NAVSA participant.
    5. Contact the Bloomington Visitors & Convention Bureau at: 800.800.0037. They are monitoring the lodging situation in Bloomington for this weekend and will have updated information on availability.
    6. If you are still unable to locate lodging after trying these resources, contact Mary Morgan, IU Conferences and she will work with you to locate a room (email: mcmorgan@indiana.edu).

Parking

If you are staying at the IMU…..

Parking is free for guests staying at the IMU and is available in two lots adjacent to the hotel.

If you are commuting OR lodging off-campus…..

Discounted parking passes will be available at the Conference Registration desk for participants commuting or staying at locations other than the IMU. Even if you are lodging off campus, you may park in either of the two parking lots adjoining the IMU.
