Nancy J. Peterson, Associate Professor of English and American Studies, is the author of
Against Amnesia: Contemporary Women Writers and the Crises of Historical Memory (U of Pennsylvania P, 2001) and the editor of
Toni Morrison: Critical and Theoretical Approaches (Johns Hopkins UP, 1997). A specialist in contemporary American literature and postmodern theory, she currently serves as the associate editor of
Modern Fiction Studies and previously guest-edited special issues of
Native American Literature (Vol. 45, number 1) and
Toni Morrison (Vol 39, numbers 3-4). She has taught graduate courses and seminars in contemporary American fiction, contemporary issues in American Studies, feminist theory and women's literature, Native American history and literature, and the pedagogy of teaching literature to undergraduates.
