Jee-Hee Han, Ph.D student, won best paper award at the International Information and Communications Technologies in Tourism 2006 conference.
Jennifer Mize Smith , Ph.D. student, earned Top Paper and Top Student Paper Awards in Organizational Communication at the 2005 NCA Conference for a paper titled "Institutionalizing Philanthropy in the Workplace: A Critical Examination of Management's Construction of Giving." With Professor Beverly Davenport Sypher, paper, "Giving at work: Identification with the company or the charitable organization?" received Top Paper in the Applied Communication division at the Southern States Communication Association meeting. Smith also was chosen to receive a Purdue Research Foundation grant for 2006-2007.
Wendy Morgan, Ph.D. student, with Professor Steve Wilson, had "Nonphysical child abuse: A review of literature and challenge to Communication scholars" published in Communication Yearbook.
Ambar Basu, Ph.D. student, received the University of Kentucky Travel Scholarship ($500) to attend the Kentucky Conference on Health Communication.
