Artist Statement
Ruth MountaingroveMy work in recording the photographic herstory of the mostly Southern Oregon Lesbian community was undertaken to preserve the moment so glimmering, so quickly gone. I emphasized preserving on film the experiences that were happening and would be herstory if caught by the camera's eye. I urged other women photographers to do this too and to a great extent this has happened.
